The stage is set for the UK’s only national consumer show for people with disabilities. enABLE 08, presented by Centaur Exhibitions and supported by Leonard Cheshire Disability, the UK’s leading disability charity, is the only show dedicated to people with disabilities who seek an active and independent life.
To be held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 28-29 November 2008, the very first enABLE show will be free to attend and will meet the information needs of visitors while offering an engaging seminar programme. The Ricoh Arena, which offers the most disabled-accessible exhibition halls in the UK and thousands of parking spaces, also boasts excellent travel links by car and train. That, together with the estimated core audience of 1.2 million living within a two-hour drive time of Coventry, makes it the most convenient venue for this first-time exhibition.
There will be a vast array of products and services on offer, all aimed at those seeking a more active and independent life. Companies such as those displaying aids, holidays, financial and professional services, training, recruitment and education will be present. In its first year enABLE is aiming to attract over 120 companies selling products and services to the disability market, ranging from corporate business to trade associations and charities.
A major attraction will be a high profile seminar programme which will be created to reflect the needs of people with disabilities, providing a wealth of information on topical issues. Among them there will be seminars covering Financial Entitlement, Work & Careers, Education, Holidays, Health & Support and Family Life.
The show’s content will be underpinned by the UK’s largest piece of research into the needs and aspirations of the disabled community, conducted by YouGov. The results of the research, which will be available at the end of August, will define the finite content of the seminars to make them as effective as possible.
"Leonard Cheshire Disability is delighted to be working with Centaur on the development of enABLE 08,” commented Stephen Elsden, Marketing Manager, Leonard Cheshire Disability. “Disabled people deserve the very best advice and information on how they can overcome barriers and enjoy life to the full. I am confident that enABLE 08 will deliver this advice and information, and much more besides."
Show organiser Centaur Exhibitions’ Nick Noble added, “We at Centaur recognised that there was a need for a show such as enABLE to offer people with disabilities the opportunity to receive every possible benefit and advantage. We expect to be able to accommodate the needs of people with all disabilities from across the UK and beyond. We are determined to ensure that enable ’08 will act as an information portal to ensure that they and their carers get the very best possible advice to allow them to live their life in the way they deserve.”
