Calibre is a national charity which provides a free postal library service of audio books for people with sight problems, dyslexia or other disabilities. There are over 8000 unabridged titles to choose from (1400 in the Young Calibre Library), all read by professionals. Books are recorded on MP3 format CDs and cassettes; catalogues are available online, on CD-R and in large print. New titles are added frequently to the library stock and there are regular newsletters to members as well as a quarterly magazine containing news, book reviews and articles of interest.
No independent confirmation of eligibility is required and application forms are available from Calibre or downloaded from the website.
